Hi fellow Courserians, how do you prove that you have been successful in taking a MOOC course? “Signaling” is a term used to describe how to communicate learning success using non-traditional teaching methods such as MOOCs to a wider community.

In some cases, you might want to use the fact that you’ve successfully completed one or more Learning Platform classes to obtain college credit. This is still difficult to pull off, and options to get credit for MOOCs generally require you to be enrolled in a traditional college or university that is willing to accept third-party credit.
More frequently, you might want to use non-traditional means to communicate your non-traditional learning such as putting the courses you’ve completed directly on your resume or LinkedIn profile, or creating an educational or employment portfolio that can include artifacts and reflections, such as your verified certificates or statement of accomplishments that illustrate your educational successes.
