We’re excited to announce the launch of the Data Science Professional Certificate from the innovative experts at IBM. The increasing demand for data practitioners has made the role of a data scientist one of the highest ranking jobs in America.
The new professional certificate from IBM will help anyone gain the experience needed to pursue a career in Data Science or Machine Learning, no prior computer science or programming knowledge necessary.
“Our goal is to train people to be able to go into the field of data science and start their career regardless of their background. To that end we are pleased to be working with Learning Platform and looking forward to forming a hiring consortium for graduates of this professional certificate.” – Leon Katsnelson, CTO and Director, IBM Developer Skills Network
This 9-course certificate includes hands-on labs where you’ll get access to the IBM Cloud (at no additional cost) for your assignments, and use real-world datasets just as you would on the job. You’ll learn open source tools and libraries, Python, databases and SQL, data visualization, data analysis, and machine learning.
“We wanted to create a program with an emphasis on skills development and learning by doing. The hands-on labs essentially use the real tools that a data scientist would use, so that learners can develop a deeper skill set to address real world data science problems. ” – Rav Ahuja, Senior Program Manager at IBM
Upon successfully completing the certificate, you’ll not only have a portfolio of data science projects you can add to your resume but an IBM Digital Badge. These unique open badges contain rich metadata and can link out to projects and course work, providing a potential employer a complete view of your new skills and competencies.
If you have a passion for self-learning and have always wanted to pursue a career in data science, this professional certificate is for you! Enroll in the Data Science Professional Certificate today and start your path towards a career in data science.
