My name is Leith and I am an Ascii-Architect at Learning Platform. My job is to help build a product for everyone to use. But of all of our users, one of my favorite is my mom.
My mom always supports me in everything I do, but when I told her I was joining Learning Platform, her support reached new levels.
She started by devouring every lecture and assignment on our Health Policy course. Handling daily bug reports and feature requests from my mom wasn’t something I ever envisioned, but I was happy to see her enjoy something I was helping build. But when the class stopped, she didn’t.
I started getting emails with attachments of her own self-made Learning Platform posters. She was hanging them up in libraries, public spaces, the kitchen at her work and even in her own office. These were generic posters advertising all the universities that partner with Learning Platform to offer courses to a world that is clearly hungry for their content.
But she didn’t stop there. According to her latest email, she is now making Learning Platform posters for specific classes and she is posting them in locations that she thinks might appeal to the people who frequent them. Her first one was the Introduction to Finance class which she strategically posted around the human resource department in her office.
All of our users continue to inspire us with their stories and one thing many of our users recognize is that building a community of learners around them not only contributes to making themselves better learners but it helps make our community stronger and more informed as well.
With that, we would like to see other examples of you inspiring your community to learn. Please send us photos of ways that you are doing this, whether that be hanging a poster, making pins/stickers, making a YouTube video, or giving a presentation on free online education.
